Faucaria tuberculosa Faucaria tuberculosa is has chunky, triangular leaves with distinctive, bumpy or “tubercled” surfaces, it is also known as ” Warty Tiger Jaws”. This subspecies has a variable appearance and some individuals have gentle teeth with tendrils lining their leaves. It is a compact, clumping species from South Africa and it produces large, dandelion-like blooms from late summer to fall that open each afternoon and close by nightfall. May be grown in full sun, but protect from frost. Main picture is of my mother plant, all other(s) are shown here in 3″ pots (for size reference).
It is particularly easy to grow and rarely affected by common succulent pests and diseases. Strong, drought-tolerant roots will grow if they have great drainage and infrequent water. Pick deep containers with drainage holes and a gritty, well-draining soil that is 50% to 70% mineral grit (coarse sand, pumice, or perlite). Water deeply enough for water to run out the drainage hole and allow the soil to completely dry before watering again.
Plants available are rooted divisions. Plant will ship bare root. Will refund some of the shipping cost when placing an order for 2 or more plants. All my plants are healthy and pest free. I ship USPS priority mail 2-5 business days. All purchases on or after Wednesday will ship the following Monday to avoid plants spending the weekend at the post office. Not responsible for frozen plants or delays from postal service, that’s out of my hands. If you require a heat pack, I have some for sale, check under my other listings. I’m not making any money on these, I have them there for YOUR convenience. They are priced at $6 that’s to cover my cost. If you purchase a heat pack send me a message and let me know is for your order.
For orders cancelled or refunded 72 hours after being placed, there will be a $5 charge (deducted from total refund) to cover restocking and Stripe’s processing fee.
