Pilosocereus Pachycladus “wooly Blue Torch”

You will receive a plant 24″ or taller.  Pilosocereus pachycladus “wooly blue torch” is a striking, waxy blue cactus from Brazil.  There are many varieties and subspecies within this species and this one has lots of white wool and short white needles.  It is very different from the other common P. pachycladus “azureus” encountered in the trade.

Eventually they branch basally and along the stem.  I have a licensed Florida nursery and can sell to the lower 48 except California.

aring for the Pilosocereus pachycladus “Wooly Blue Torch Cactus” is simple. Plant it in well-draining soil and place it in a sunny spot with bright, indirect light. Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings, especially during the dormant winter months. Avoid excessive humidity and overwatering, which can lead to root rot.

Fertilize with a diluted, balanced cactus fertilizer during the growing season (spring and summer) every 6-8 weeks. Pruning isn’t typically necessary, but remove any dead or damaged growth as needed.

Protect the cactus from frost and cold temperatures, as it’s not cold-hardy. With proper care, it will flourish, showcasing its distinctive blue-green spines.
