You will receive a roughly 12″ plant. Pilosocereus pachycladus ssp. pernambucoensis CS 154 (Alagoas, Brazil) is a green subspecies of P. pachycladus, and my lot of seedlings is of one of the greener cultivars. I have a registered and licensed Florida nursery and can sell to the lower 48 except California.
Caring for Pilosocereus pachycladus ssp. pernambucoensis cactus is straightforward. Plant it in well-draining soil and place it in a sunny location with plenty of indirect sunlight. Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings, especially during the dormant winter period.
Fertilize with a diluted, balanced cactus fertilizer during the growing season (spring and summer) approximately every 6-8 weeks. Pruning is usually unnecessary, but remove any dead or damaged growth as needed.
Protect the cactus from frost and cold temperatures, as it is not cold-tolerant. With proper care, it will thrive and reveal its desert elegance in your collection.
