Organic Moringa Oleifera The Miracle Tree

Moringa tree is known throughout as the drumstick’ or ‘horseradish’ tree. It’s famously called the Tree of Life for its many benefits. Moringa is a plant with multi-purpose uses its leaves, roots and immature pods are consumed as a vegetable. All parts of the moringa tree – bark, pods, leaves, nuts, seeds, tubers, roots, and flowers – are edible. The leaves are used fresh or dried and ground into powder. The seed pods are picked while still green and eaten fresh or cooked. The whole tree is edible and is great to make greens powder to put into smoothies. Great to drink as a cold or hot tea. Taste is very light. The leaves can be eaten as a superfood also placed in salads. Moringa does not tolerate long frosts. Best to plant Moringa outside in zones 9 and 10, but can be grown inside anywhere in pots and do very well. Moringa can be harvested every two months for its leaves and those leaves will grow back really fast. Moringa is a nutrient-dense plant that is rich in vitamins, calcium, iron and essential amino acids. Widely known as “drumstick tree” in India, moringa goes by different names in different countries and regions. It is known as ‘Sahijan’ in Hindi, “Munaga’ in Telugu, ‘Murungai’ in Tamil. The Tagalog name in the Philippines is ‘Mulunggay’, which sounds very similar to ‘Moringa’. Rich in Vitamins and Minerals. Rich in Amino Acids. Rich in Antioxidants. Moringa has many important vitamins and minerals. The leaves have about as much potassium as a banana, and about the same amount of vitamin C as an orange. It also has calcium, protein, iron, and amino acids. Moringa has been shown in multiple scientific studies to provide numerous benefits. Everyone should have one of these plants at home the benefits are endless. All plants are grown in our small home garden.
